Calvin D. Freeman, Principal
Greetings Thomasville High School Students, Families, Faculty & Staff,
It’s a great day to be a Thomasville High School Bulldog! As the new principal of Thomasville High School, I am honored to serve the students, staff and community as we strive to continue on our path to excellence. In recent years, our school has made great strides in improving outcomes for students. My commitment to you is that we will work together to continue this upward trajectory of improvement as we strive to become a school of distinction.
As your new leader, it is important to share my priorities to begin our journey together. First, everything we do will contribute to the ultimate goal of increasing positive outcomes in achievement for each Thomasville High School student. I believe that when our students experience engaging, personalized instruction aimed at preparing them to be successful adults, our achievement and graduation rates will soar.
I believe a strong, positive school culture is paramount in ensuring our school is a fantastic place to work and learn. Implementing restorative practices will be a priority in order to build community and provide the foundation for an inclusive culture where positive relationships grow and students thrive. Building a strong, positive school culture where we all look forward to coming to work and learn is my personal mission and commitment to you.
As excited as I am to lead this great school, I would be remiss to think I could do it alone. The old adage ‘it takes a village’ could not be truer than when it comes to building a school of excellence. We have a dynamic staff and over 650 incredible students, but we cannot reach our full potential as a school without the partnership of our parents and community. Engaging the community and increasing parental involvement will be an area of focus for our team. Thomasville High School is the icon of this community. We must work collectively to make it the pride of our community. Together, we can solidify Thomasville High School as the premier educational experience of this county.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community as the principal of Thomasville High School. I am eager to roll up my sleeves and work alongside each of you as we do the most important work of any community – educating and empowering our youth to be successful, thriving adults. Thank you for allowing me to serve you; it is both my honor and my privilege. Together, we will achieve great things- so, “Bring Your A Game!”
