Great Day!
I am super excited to join Bulldog Nation for the 2024-25SY in the capacity of Assistant Principal. As an educator over the past 30 years, I have served in various capacities. My first and continued love is that of a high school math teacher. I have over 17 years in the math classroom inclusive of servicing as team lead and department chair. I have served as a math coach, Learn & Earn Facilitator, and School Coach. My second love is serving as an administrator. I have served in this capacity for seven years. As I enter the 8th year (new beginnings), I am honored to serve the school community and families of Thomasville High School.
Mark Twain reminds us to "find a job you love doing, and you will never work a day in your life". What I do daily is a labor of love filled with purpose and passion. My purpose is to increase the collective efficacy of teachers so that student outcomes will positively increase. My passion is ensuring that every child receives the best education possible while exposing them to learning experiences and opportunities that will not only change their lives but that of their family and future generations. I agree with President Obama and encourage students to see who they are and what they are able to do when they realize that.."Change will not come if we (you) wait for some other person or some other time. We (you) are the ones we've (you've) been waiting for. We (you) are the change that we (you) seek."
My joy can be found in cooking, reading, writing, driving, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (Aggie Pride!) where I obtained a BS in Secondary Math Education and a Masters in Computer Science. I am a graduate of NC State University with a Masters in School Administration. As an alumna of Gardner Webb University, where I obtained my Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I unite with a second Bulldog Nation (THS) and get to sport the colors of black and red in a different capacity!
