The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recently presented students’ 2024-2025 state testing results to the State Board of Education. The information presented included School Performance Grades, student growth information, and student proficiency rates. Superintendent Dr. Quincy D. Williams acknowledged both the successes and the ongoing challenges, stating: “Thomasville City Schools entered this year with a clear commitment that it would be a year of progress—and the data affirms that we have delivered on that promise. While areas for growth remain, the progress we’ve achieved is evidence of our momentum. We are seeing measurable results that demonstrate what is possible when focus and collaboration align. As we look ahead, we will continue to strengthen our efforts, which will be guided by the goals and strategies outlined in our new three-year Strategic Plan. We remain deeply committed to ensuring every student experiences increased academic growth and achievement in the 2025–2026 school year.”
